PCSO's
PCSO's 0272 Trevor Vearncombe & 0240 Chris Ward.
For the last couple of years I have been troubled by youths destroying my property. This period has been extremely upsetting and has affected my health and I felt no progress was mad until Chris Ward amd Trevor Vearncombe go involved.
Their care, concern and commitment has improved my life immensely and has led to the matter being dealt with, and these youth no longer pester me.
Knowing these two support officers are at the end of the phone is very reassuring and I would like to nominate them for outstadning service, and they ahve completely restored my faith in the local Police service.

A Block
I nominate the police officer on A Block @ Kirkby Police station.
Con 2033 Cotterell, Sgt 8698 Whittingham, Con 7012 Blase, Con 3432 O'Prey, Con 5314 Jones, Con 3004 Phillips, Con 3902 Duffy, Con 4427 Ebbrell, Con 3253 Matthews, EO 9085 McDonald.
Just before Christmas we had a sum of money stolen from our premises. We called the police as we had our suspicions of who could have stolen it.
Con 2033 Cotterell came along and took details of what had happened, he dealt with us in a lovely way and still calls around to check we are ok.
We are pensioners in our twighlight years and when this happened we had just celebrated our 95th & 91st birthdays - birthday cards where still displayed when Con Cotterell came to speak with us.
It appears that he went back to the station and discussed the circumstances of our theft with his sergeant, and also told her we had recently celebrated birthdays.
What happened next was a lovely surprise and a very kind gesture from this group of officers.
They sent us a lovely bouquet of flowers to wish us a Happy Birthday; and we believe the money came from the officers themselves.
The bouquet was beautiful, and was a very very kind gesture by these officers, and we just wanted to sat thank you for your kindness.

Beth, Andrea, Heather
Since moving into trident one in december 2009, I have been thoroughly bowled over by the professionalism, courtesy, friendliness and problem solving of all the Manchester team, but especially of these three. Moving business is always a difficult time, but having your team around me has made the whole process lots easier. Heather in particular has sorted out our comms issues
quickly, has provided solutions and always with a smile on her face. Andrea has delt with our sometimes difficult customers on the phones, and both Andrea and Beth always have a cheery smile and a "good morning" for me whenever they see me. Having come from an office complex that does not have the benefit of such a proactive team I think that you should be very proud of
your team here at Trident One. I had no hesitation in recommending your office premises to anyone being shown around, when I ran into some yesterday.

Katy Fowler
It is not easy establishing a satellite office from 5,000 miles away. Add to that setting up the office within a short time frame over the Christamas holidays; when staff and maintainance are on holiday or working shorter
hours! But Katy Fowler was the best person we could have asked to ensure that we achieved our goals. It seemed that no request we had in setting up our MWB
managed office--from telephones, painting to carpet cleaning was too much to ask. She was gracious and never without a smile! 2010 is a critical year for
our organization. Our European office needed to be fully operational by January 6th 2010 to be ready to handle new business projects awarded to our
company, and to support an important new international alliance partner, It is with great respect and many thanks that we recognize Katy for her efforts
and ongoing support. She is an outstanding manager and makes us feel as though we are the only company of many that she has. Now that's a skill!

David Crosthwaite
Myself and my daugther (age 16) visited attended a 'jobs fair' which was held at St Helens Town Hall and had the lovely pleasure of being approached by David who at the time was representing Merseyside Police.
My daughter 'Carla' wanted to know how to become a 'police cader' and David showed great diversity and instantly treated her as an individual assisting in giving her excellent but not daunting adviceand guidance which entailed what path she should/could follow.
My daughter had so many questions to ask and David showed fantastic levels of listening skills and was able to evaluate and give understandable answers.
Carla is now a 'police cadet' with St Helens, tried on her uniform for the first time and asked me 'Mum, do you think one day I will make a good police woman?' and my reply was 'Just remember what that lovely police man said to you and you won't go wrong.'
My daugther wears a lovely smile as she leaves my house on the way to 'police cadets' - all thanks to you David for being there for both of us, you have helped my little girl enormously to decide her future career and made life easier for me.

Gary McCabe & Kevin Kehoe
I would like to nominate both PC Gary McCabe and Kevin Kehoe. The service they provided me was just not reassuring, but both outstanding and above my expectations. I am registered blind and have a guide dog and a young child to look after. They had already changed the locks in my house previously due to an earlir incident which has given me a great deal of peace of mind. However during the week leading up to Christmas I was unable to locate my keys meaning I was unable to access the back of my home and let my guide dog go to the toilet where he is trained to go. I was unable to get out the house in a case of a fire (which Kevin pointed out), after paying a qualified locksmith to gain entry to the front of the house I was appalled at the job he did and this put me off him attempting any other of my doors, hence me contacting Kevin and Gary for some PROFESSIONAL advice on what I should do as they where aware some of the locks in my home where quite complex. This was on Christmas eve and to my astonishment they personally came to my home and picked each lock, they stayed for nearly 2 hours and showed determination I have never before seen. My guide dog was extremely relieved to be able to do his business in the garden and they not only allowed me access to my garden they made my Christmas. I was able to retrieve the presents that had been put away for my daughter, they even taught me each key and how the lock opened due to my sight, I can not thank these two gentlemen enough. I was astounded by their professionalism and also the fact that after I paid a qualified locksmith who botched the job, it was quite obvious that Kevin and Gary where better skilled. I was extremely impressed with their work and also the time they spent making sure I knew what key was for each lock due to my vision and helped me identify each one. They made me feel safe, at ease and also gave me faith that there are genuinely nice people in this world that will help you, Thanks so much.

Dave Crossthwaite
I would like to nominate Dave Crossthwaite because although I failed in my application for Police Officer he really was so supportive all the time. So much that he really has made me feel so confident that I have reapplied.
He really is just so polite and is always happy to see me. He is so supportive and has looked after me very well. He is really good at his job.
Big WOW for him because for the first time I felt that somebody cared about me and my career.

Dave Crossthwaite
When I first applied for the job of Police Officer I was not sure what to expect. I was so stressed because I didn’t think that I had enough preparation. I failed in my assessment and I felt so down and my confidence was lacking.
Through the Positive Action Team I got to know Dave Crossthwaite who immediately gave me so much good advice about where I had gone wrong. He taught me many good things such as interview techniques and how to present myself more positively and not to by shy because I am only a small woman with English as my second language.
His advice was so helpful that I passed my interview on a different job as a clerical officer.
This officer has a pleasant manner, he is always cheerful and polite and help to put your mind at ease.
I guess what I am really trying to say is that Dave Crossthwaite deserves to be nominated because he gave me so much confidence and belief in myself so much that he has convinced me to apply for the job of Police Officer again. He offered me help and support during the recruitment process.
In my opinion he really does have the WOW factor because no matter Who you are Or Where you are from he will always help you.

Barry Bright and Dave Crossthwaite
I would like to nominate Barry Bright and Dave Crossthwaite for taking the time to invite me to a Seminar at the Customer Focus Centre.
The Seminar was a brilliant source of information for people who had difficulty with the recruitment process. While obviously they could not help me find the right answers, it was invaluable to have some explain to me exactly what was expected.
What Dave and Barry did was fairly simple. However, it was hugely beneficial to me. It helped me perform to the best of my ability, which I am confident I would not have been able to do with their help.
I also feel it is important to recognise that Dave and Barry were the first direct contact I had with Merseyside Police. I feel they represented the force brilliantly. They make excellent role model’s for the professionalism and attitudes of the force as a whole.
I am more than happy to nominate both Dave and Barry. I could not think of more suitable candidates.

Safe- Move
Emma Cousins and I booked on a (free) course run by Yorkshire Water at Esholt Sewage Works on Friday 11th December last.
We made our way to the training centre in the delightful setting of Esholt Hall (built for the Stansfield family of Rawdon in the 1700’s) and made a very stately entrance into one of the Hall’s large reception rooms.
When I looked around I did remark to Emma that “something was not quite right”. The other attendees were pot bellied, heavily tattooed men in T shirts discussing the previous nights whippet racing - “Bradford solicitors”, we assumed.
More alarming however, coffee was served in plastic cups. But again, as Emma rightly pointed out, my own education in these matters was somewhat limited - and there was nowhere else to g o. We therefore hung around expectantly, each partaking of the most huge bacon tea cakes handed out to all and sundry.
Within minutes we were summoned into the lecture theatre – no checks as to who we were, no raised eyebrows. We were told that the first item to be discussed was the most important. A problem with Yorkshire Waters sewerage pipes in the Wrose area needed urgent attention, to prevent a mountain of “super activated slurry” descen ding upon the unfortunate residents of eastern Shipley. (At this point it did seem to me that a mountain of slurry within the curtilege of your dwelling is not ideal, but the super activated stuff...)
Unable to make any constructive suggestions, we made as dignified an exit as quickly as possible, again without a flicker of concern on anybody’s part, but missing out on the details of what remedial action was to be take to remedy this unholy Armageddon.
Sure enough we discovered we were in the wrong place. Our course was to be held in Yorkshire Water’s excellent visitor centre, not the training centre.
And a first rate course it was. Amy Poole’s talk combined an insight into the work of Yorkshire Water, as well as a practical approach to interpreting drainage searches – just the sort of practical information property buyers would need.
After the talk we enjoyed a tour (by bus) of the treatment works, this was of particular interest to Emma and I who have lived in the area all our lives, but never been round the works.
Finally, we had an excellent lunch and conversation with the very pleasant staff and Yorkshire Water.
Congratulations to Yorkshire Water and to Amy who really managed to pull all the stops.

At the latter part of last year i organised a charity collection. A week before the event it was evident that I had not applied for the collection license correctly (my fault) and contacted your licensing department. I spoke to Sarah who helped me greatly in obtaining a license within a day. Sarah made regular contact with me, helped me with the forms I needed and was a joy to deal with. Sarah’s help and quick actions really did save the day in raising over £700 for The Donna Louise Trust and I hope to deal with Sarah direct for help with future license events.

Jane Potts
I would like to nominate Jane Potts at Green & Blacks customer service for sending us a voucher so that we (or should that be our cat; Winston) could enjoy more of Green & Blacks delicious organic ice cream.
It was a lovely gesture after we sent in a few snaps of Winston enjoying the last drops of the ice cream pot and getting the pot stuck over his head....a few times!
We bought another 2 pots with the voucher, a chocolate one and strawberry one...both of which we all thoroughly enjoyed...many thanks!
You deserve this award Jane with all our best wishes and a happy new year,
From Stuart & Diane Keen.

Abbots House Team
Hi, I would really like you to consider all the staff at Abbotts House.
My sister, Joan Brown, lives there. She has that terrible illness Altzheimers.
All the staff, that we have seen on visiting her, are wonderful with her. Nobody ever knows when my husband and I are going to visit, as we go when we can make it. Every time we go though, Joan always looks clean and well cared for. Her hair is always clean and 'set'. I think Eve does that. Her nails are often painted too. She actually looks really happy to be living there. She always has a lovely smile on her face, and we often see the carers giving her a hug.
A couple of months ago, she and another resident was taken to see a show at the Regent Theatre in Hanley. I think Jane and another carer took them. Apparently Joan had a wonderful time. She was given a signed programme that she carried with her everywhere for a time. She also went to a party at the home close by, and again she had a good time.
My nephew Steven,(Joan's son), my sister Barbara and my husband and I, are truly indebted to these wonderful people that help to make Joan and the other residents comfortable and loved.
Please pick them to receive a WOW Award. They truly deserve it.
Kind regards, Carole Cartlidge

They picked up my complaint about one of their products really well and send me a refund and a great letter. This repaired my trust in their products and even feel more tempted to stick to their fantastic chocolate. The letter I received was written in a very nice way which is hard to find these days. They also contributed with information for a project I assist with in a school in Hackney, all about chocolate. Wow I was surprised by their excellent customer service and feel this year they deserve the award!!!!

Sandra Buttrick
Assistant Registrar, Kirkliston Registry Office: This woman is a star. My partner and I had a civil partnership ceremony at the Kirkliston Registry Office and Sandra took the ceremony.
From the word go, she helped us feel informed and involved throughout the whole process. She made us both feel supported and she most definitely helps give it a personal touch.
The day of the ceremony was given a very special sparkle by Sandra. She went over and beyond the normal duties of a registrar I am sure. It's the little things that really matter and for that, we both really appreciated the attention to detail she gave. She was dressed up for the occasion which was lovely for us. She had added a CD player with a remote control so that our guests could make sure the music was played according to our wishes. She couldn't have made us feel more at ease which was great for us given the nerves were most certainly jangling.
After the ceremony she had supplied a bottle of bubbly and some glasses. I just can't express how much this exceeded my expectations of Council services. Finally, and I know this sounds daft, but she provided a fountain pen for the signing of the register. Her handwriting was impeccable. It's a small thing, but it means our certificate looks gorgeous.
It's all these little things that count towards customer service that really does stand head and shoulders above anything else I have experienced. She should be commended for the genuine effort she put into our day and we both were delighted at how it all went. If you are looking for service that makes people go "Wow" then undoubtedly Sandra has stepped up to the mark and exceeded it. I'm just so glad our day was made all the better by Sandra's wonderful customer service. Thank you!!

Customer service operator and leaf cleaning team
I am sorry I do not know the names of the individuals involved but I wanted to say a big thank you to the employees who acted so promptly when I telephoned about a large amount of leaves clogging up a pavement and gutters. I explained the the area in question included a corner and pavement right outside the property of an infirm elderly gentleman. The "carpet" of leaves made for quite slippy walking for the gentleman concerned and for my parents and other residents of the street.
The (Australian?) female employee who answered the phone was very helpful and sympathetic and said she would pass on the details right away. We were extremely pleased to see that a team was there within a few hours and took great care in diligently removing the leaves - everyone went above and beyond the call of duty.
So please pass on our thanks, it really does make a difference to people to be able to walk without worrying about falling - and it also helps the gutters and drains not to become blocked.

Amir
I found this Company on the internet on the 3rd November 2009. I required a cine film to be converted to a DVD. My film is approximately 30 years old and I was a bit doubtful it would convert.
After speaking to Amir he confirmed that everything would be done to get the best possible copy and that they would keep me informed of every step.
WALLA - I received my DVD today (14th November 2009) and I am pleased with the quality of it, considering its age. I was quoted £89 on the telephone but the actual cost was only £59.
I cannot praise this Company highly enough for their speed and service in delivering my order and not to mention Amir who explained in detail the pros and cons.
To me this Company has definitely got the WOW factor.

Have to say 'WOW' for 1st class service from Michael. I rang up at 4.45pm to request a quote, and didn't expect to receive it until tomorrow, but he sent it straight away, added all the relevant forms to the email, and everything was correct! I say this because so many product providers get things wrong today, leaving us frustrated and wasting time and money putting their errors right. Really excellent service from Michael.
